An enjoyable shoot at Drayton Parslow, although a little windy which made the targets very sporting. Congratulations to James who takes the Trophy home.

League Shoot at Marston – 12th March 2017
Marston always puts on a good league shoot and we greatly enjoyed the shoot. The scores were generally high and Kingswood managed a very respectable score with Adrian and Barry breaking 44 clays each to come third equal behind Chris Cherry (Crown) and Chris Davis (Akeley). Not a bad result.

Practice shoot at Doddershall – 5th March 2017
Despite a rather inauspicious start to the day, rain (I had been constantly looking for the email announcing the cancellation of the shoot), a reasonable number of members attended the shoot. The ground was saturated from the rain during the last few days. The rain stopped by 10, and the sun came out. The wind did rise, resulting in some unpredictable flight patterns taken by the targets. Brian set up a couple of stands with a demanding target. Thankfully the other target on the stand was easier. We must thank Ann for the Lemon Drizzle cake and cookies.

Practice shoot at Quainton – 19th February
Wow, what a difference a week makes with the weather. It was almost short sleeve weather today at Quainton. No rain, light wind, and the sun threatening to shine. A good mix of targets had been setup by Brain and Dawn from DB Guns of Thame. There were 21 shooters in the practice shoot, plus some beginners. We had a beginner stand with Mark Hill providing tuition. Beginners are welcome to come and try shooting. Please let us know before coming, we can then ensure we have a coach and stand available for beginners.

League shoot at Akeley, 12th February 2017
Miserable cold day for a shoot, with sleet and rain. Parking was restricted to the road because of the wet field. The shoot was the usual layout we have come to expect from Akeley. Some contention about the scoring with another 52 bird shoot.
Despite the rubbish weather we managed to field the required number of shooters. Results will be posted when I receive them.
Practice shoot at Doddershall, 4th February 2017
We had a great turnout today at the Doddershall ground with 26 shooting. The day was cloudy, dry and cool. No wind, to disturb the clays, and no sun in our eyes. The mini trap was out again, practicing for the Welsh shoot. We shot round in four squads to reduce the waiting time. There though was an unavoidable delay at 11 when a group of joggers passed through the shooting ground. This was known about before hand, so tea and coffee were served as we gave encouragement to the runners. I think we all enjoyed the shoot. Some new faces as well. We must congratulate Mark H on his practice with the rabbit target. Fifty cartridges and two targets hit!
Next week there is the League shoot at Akeley. Everybody is encouraged to attend, fifty bird shoot for £10 and all ready set up for us. The following week the club meeting is at Quainton.

Dry day for the Sunday shoot. The grass has really dried out and vehicles could drive on the fields. Still rather cold in the wind.
